Saturday, August 8

This day started warm. We didn't have to make a long drive today. We got up leisurely and had breakfast and tidied up leisurely.

We didn't leave early because of that; not until half past eight.

We cycled to the North Sea Canal and crossed the ferry.

We drove along the Nauermasche Vaart via Westzaan, through Krommenie and Wormerveer to West Knolledam.

There we crossed the Zaan. We took a break under the bridge.

Along the Knollerdammer Vaart we came to Spijkerboor. We were transferred on a small ferry.

We cycled into the Beemster via beautiful roads.

We passed the Beemster cheese factory there. I took a picture because of the Beemster farmer's cheese

In Middenbeemster we did some shopping to cool down. Then buying food is fun shopping.

At North Beemster we left the Beemsterpolder again. We arrived in Hoorn via winding, sometimes busy and new roads.

We were supposed to do some shopping there at Aldi, but it could not be found. As I drove over a bump, something broke in my rear spring and the bike became a real recumbent because it went all the way over behind.

Already lying back we drove back to the AH and we did some shopping there.

In an even more recumbent position we drove to the campsite at Wijdenes. The camping site is called the Camping Garden.

It was still very warm

We have set up the tents between the pear trees in as much shade as possible. Luckily they had cold 0.0% beer from the fridge
